What's Up? Wellness Emotional Health Checkups, Groups & Training
WUWC is a suicide prevention program that WISE created with Shellee Sepko, LMFT for Nevada County Behavioral Health, offering free in-school mental health screenings, in-school groups and follow up treatment connections in all NJUHSD and TTUSD district high schools. WUWC works to meet the needs they see in their teen community, starting The Spectrum Project for LGBTQ+ teens and caregivers and offering mindfulness, writing and arts groups for mental wellness in schools. WUW also provides Mental Health First Aid trainings for those supporting youth and adults as well as in schools for teens as a peer-to-peer training.
WISE provides classroom and community presentations on teen emotional health and how it relates to healthy choices, risk reduction and overall wellness. Topics include: mental health 101, suicide risk awareness, self-injury supports, opioid overdose prevention/response and mindfulness skills. Teen, Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid trainings are also available.
